Prakash Raj for divorce
South India's highest-paid screen villain Prakash Raj gets ready to separate
from his estranged wife, reports said. He was introduced to the Tamil film
industry with the film Duet. Soon, the actor made his sway felt all over the
South. Ten years ao, he married Lalitha Kumar (younger sister of Shanti Srihari)
and has two children. His spouse, who also acted in some Tamil films, said
goodbye to the profession after marriage. A lawyer is said to be paving the way
for their smooth separation, the reports maintained. The Telugu Film Producers
Council recently slapped a non-cooperation notice on the actor.
Chiru's party in speculation again
Simmering speculations started since last night that Megastar Chiranjeevi's
party might be launched in advance in view of the prevailing political weather
and grouping in the state. The sudden prediction of midterm polls in December is
said to have put the mega camp on its nerves. Earlier, Allu Arvind confirming
Chiru's political entry fixed the date in August. Now, the feeler is that
Chiru's rail might arrive in a couple weeks, after the "moodam" (inauspicious
period in Telugu almanac). As usual, there is no confirmation on this.
Maheshswari to turn bride
Actresss Maheshwari, who turned popular in Telugu with JD Chakri movie Gulabi
but saw the oblivion later, is set to marry a Hyderabad-based businessman. The
actress fell in love with him and both waited for the green signal from their
parents to make a wedlock entry. A distant relative of evergreen star Sridevi,
Maheshwari flourished in Tamil more than Telugu. At present, she does small
roles on the small screen. Their auspicious date would be fixed soon, sources
said.
Now, ball is in Tabu's court
Freed from the shackles of Dasavataram making, its director KS Ravi Kumar is now
tied to his previously deserted project – Jaggu Bhai, starring Sarath Kumar and
Shriya. As per the script, it requires a glamorous motherly character. Earlier,
actress Tabu was approached for the role, but things didn't work out. After a
long gap, the actress was approached again. Tabu is said to have quoted a hefty
fee of Rs. 75 lakh. Efforts of the director to prompt heroine Shriya to play
dual roles (as daughter and mother) have failed. Things might materialize based
on the pay factor. Four years ago, Rajnikanth was the original choice to play
Jaggu Bhai. The preliminary publicity stills and advertisements appeared in
several national and vernacular newspapers – showing Rajni in the getup
resembling Osama Bin Laden.
