Screen Sita and her sons honored
Nagaraju and Subramanyam, who played the highly popular title roles of the film
Lava Kusha (1963), were today felicitated at Government Music College at
Vijayawada. Highlight is that the duo was honored along with their screen mother
(Anjali Devi who played Sita). Screen brothers, who turned old now, shared their
journey with the film. Anjali Devi said it was her "Poorva Janma Sukrutham"
which brought her the opportunity to do the sacred role as Sita. Launched in
1958, it took six years for the film to release. It is the first Telugu movie
which collected Rs. 1 Crore and this was a record for a long time. Prior to Lava
Kusha, no film collected even one-third of this amount. During Tollywood's
diamond jubilee last year, the screen sons of Lord Rama (played by NT Rama Rao)
poured out their anguish before the media that they were in utter poverty,
leading lives as tailors in a remote Konaseema village.
MS Narayana's son-in-law arrested
Hyderabad police on Monday arrested one Durga Prasad, son-in-law of popular
comedian MS Narayana, on charges of dowry harassment. The police said Sasikiran,
the artiste's daughter, got married to Durga Prasad in 1996, and a dowry of Rs.
5 lakh and 50 tulas of gold were given to the bridegroom. Of late, the hubby
started harassing the lady for extra dowry which resulted in filing the
complaint. The written complaint of Sasikiran also alleged that her husband
maintained illicit relationship with a junior artiste. Further investigation is
on.

The Telugu film industry went through a period of lull during Ashadhamasam tat
ended today. During Ashadamasam, most of film industry people stay away fr
organizing film related functions, muhurats, audio launches etc. Starting fr
tomorrow (27 July, 2006), Film Nagar was going to witness many functions as
Sravanamasam was very auspicious.

Audio of Mohan Babu’s Game will be released at a function to be held at State
Art Gallery, Kavuri Hills on d night of 27 July. tis film has Mohan Babu n
Vishnu playing roles of competitive nature. Parvati Melton (Vennela fame) was
paired with Vishnu. Joshua Sridhar scored d two songs of tis film. These two
songs n d soundtrack of Game will be released on 27th July.
SV Krishna Reddy to direct an English film
SV Krishna Reddy was going to direct d remake of his Telugu blockbuster Ahwanam
of English. CC Reddy (of Visu Consultants) was so much inspired by d story of
Ahwanam tat he came forward to produce tis film of English of d direction of SV
Krishna Reddy. CC Reddy’s present production Roommates was due 4 d release on
11th August. He was also producing Mee Sreyobhilashi (a film tat deals with
suicide) with newcomers.
Andala Ramudu on 11 August
Sunil�s debut film as hero Andala Ramudu was all set to release on 11th of
August. d producer was planning to do audio launch on 27th of tis month. Arti
Agarwal was paired up with Sunil of tis film. tis film got delayed because of
Arti Agarwal�s injury. SA Raj Kumar scored music. Deepti makes his debut with
tis film.
